“Rocky”

 

Chestnut Gelding foaled in 1999 stands 15.1 1/2 hands and weighs 1250 lbs.

 

Raised by Quantum Quarter Horses Rocky is out of Root Beer Docz (see Stallion) and Pulidos Honey a “Douglas Lake Ranch mare” (bred for cutting) by Pulido Quixote.

 

Purchased from Quantum Quarter Horses when he was a week old Rocky was a people horse from the beginning.  Only halter broke he spent 3 months with Les Greipl as a 4 year old and was unafraid of anything presented, ridden through hanging  tarps, chased cattle, roped him, his legs, etc.  Ridden lightly as a 5 year old, I started him on barrels September of his 6th year.   In 2007 with a week of riding he attended his first jackpot  then ran a 2D time his third run out.  With money earned, 6 jackpots attended and no indoor experience he went to the ABRA finals and ran a 16.8 (fast time of the finals 15.1).  By fall he had 12 competition runs to his name and was running 1D times.  Only his second time indoors and with 22 lifetime jackpots he ran 15.6 at the 2007 ABRA Finals correcting my mistakes along the way.  Rocky can do anything you present him with, is extremely athletic, can turn on a dime, spins, two tracks, reverse arc, etc.  His winning combination of attitude, intelligence, build, quick speed and athletic ability makes him an amazing all around athlete.  He is ready to jackpot, rodeo or whatever you can think of and is looking for someone to keep up with him as he is ready to go hard.   Do you need him do something else?  Just give him a couple days to learn it!
