Shesam is by Royal Generation (si 98) by Easy Jet (si 100).  Her dam Shes a Little Bugger by Copper Bugs (si 109) by Bugs Alive in 75 (si 94) who is the dream broodmare sire in the barrel racing world.

 

I bought Shesam after a successful racing career for a barrel horse and future broodmare.  She had a successful affiliation to the barrel racing world before entering it.  Her full brother “Trix” ridden by Rayel Robinson was a contender at the CFR and clocked the fastest time that year.  He was sold and moved to Arizona but still makes trips back to Canada as Rayels’ backup horse at big events.  Rayel still has 3 full brothers from this cross in barrel training.  Her dam “Shes a Little Bugger” is currently owned by Grant Little of the Blue Neon Ranch also the owner of “Lady Perks”.

After leaving the track Shesam required some “slow down” work and a fair amount of give and flex work.  Her acceleration is absolutely amazing and yet she rates the barrels on command.  I put her on barrels spring of 2006 and took her to the ABRA finals with no indoor experience.  She made a nice smooth run despite her excitement with the crowd of people and horses and clocked the 32nd fastest 3rd barrel to home out of 464 entries.  Shesam is on a fast track to a bright and boundless future.
