Oprah is by Crimewave (si 84) by First Down Dash (si 105) and Antheria (si 89) who is by Beduino (TB).  Her dam Sum R Natural (si 79) is by A Natural (si 94) and Summer Pet (si 68)  by Shawnee Bug (si 101).

 

We selected Oprah for our breeding program not only on her outstanding pedigree but her racing statistics and work ethic as well.  As of 2006 she was the # 1 offspring of her dam as well as the  #3 offspring , # 2 filly produced by her sire.  Her starts to place ratio however exceeds all other Crimewave offspring as of 2006.  Her blazing speed to the 200 yard line was never matched in any of her 12 starts.

 

Along with her fantastic work ethic she is definitely a people horse and loves any attention you extend her.  From the day we brought her home she is the first horse to be caught as she is ever inquisitive. With all things considered it was a difficult decision to place her directly into the broodmare band and not give her an opportunity to barrel race.  At the 2006 Canadian Barrel Horse Incentive Futurity/Derby  “Foxy Wave” placed 3rd in the futurity and “Foxy Crime” won the Derby (both daughters of Crimewave).  “Foxy Crime” was also the Overall Canadian Derby Champion for 2006, clocked the fastest time at the Diamond N 2006 Derby and also placed 29th in the 1st go and 31st in the 2nd go at the Oklahoma 2006 World Futurity/Derby.
